I skedaddled out of the Grampians as i wanted to leave it on a high note and headed to Horsham for shopping before driving west to Mt Arapiles and camped there.

I took a pic from the nearby lookout and noticed a red glow so walked down the road to try and get a view to the south, i suspected it was the Aurora Australis so walked up to the Firetower to try for some shots up there.

I was amazed and happy to see it from Central West Victoria ...

Just down the bottom of the Mountain is Melville Cave which i think is the centre one of the three and accessible by absailing so i didnt get up there.
there is another one to the right that i tried to get to from the top but couldn't find a way to it, the one on the left is not very high or deep but you can get to it easily.

I explored the Eastern edge of the Mountain before heading off to South Australia.
