Xmas road trip 2022

Post by Big Red »

Monday 19-12-22:

After a ton of work on the Ute modifying things over the last little while I was finally leaving the canefields of Jacobs Well behind and hitting the road to the family Xmas in Bendigo.

A dinner stop at Grafton then i headed west along the Waterfall Way until i found a camp spot at Blaxlands Creek Riverside Reserve

I dropped in to Sofala but it was pretty dead, no one around, shops shut.

I drove out to Golden Gully for a look at the collapsed mineshafts and erosion.

I decided to go have a look at the Bridle Track even though it is closed and found a nice camp at Mary Flynn Reserve and had a nice afternoon swimming and reading a book in the shade beside the waterhole.

Thursday 22-12-22:

I headed out to see how far i could get as i had seen the road workers all head south so the track is probably open now.

One that didn't make it

Stone built remains beside the track.

Not far from the end the road was gated off although there is plenty of traffic on the road so i had to reverse back down the mountain and head back out to the bitumen at Hill End.
