Heading North from Brisbane 29-6-2022

Post by Big Red »

Wednesday 29-6-22:

The Ute has had a service and a couple of mods so its time to hit the road again and leave the chilly cane fields behind.

Image

I drew a map of Australia on the battery cover.
will have to mark where this Ute has been on it.

I was able to park side on to the water even though there is a downhill slope because i had fitted a levelling system to the ute so i simply pumped up the right rear to make my bed level.

Thursday 30-6-22:

A lot of cloud in the sky but no rain so far and the sun even managed to break through to give me a chance to test the new door mounted solar panel.

I grabbed a Pie at Blackbutt and continued on to Yarraman Weir and set up camp there.

I walked up to the old Yarraman Station for a look around before heading back to camp and cooking up some dinner and settling in for the night.

Friday 1-7-22:

I drizzled rain all night and wasn't about to let up in the morning so i decided to stay in bed and watch movies ... but watching touring videos gave me itchy feet so i headed off around lunchtime and bought some red sugar coated peanuts at nanango.

Image

I stopped for lunch at Kingaroy then headed up past Durong and pulled up at Jack Coe Park as it had 4 bars of 4G and i wanted to watch some more movies as it was still raining. Found a shelter so that made it easier to make my coffees.

Saturday 2-7-22:
Weather is still wet and miserable but since there is no dunny here i decided to nip into Mundubbera.

There is a weir in town on the Boyne River.

The Water Pumping station has been muralised .

I did a bit of shopping and headed up on the hill to the Mundubbera Jaycee Park and parked up.
