Heading North from Brisbane 29-6-2022

Saturday 9-7-22:

Relaxed around camp, cooked up some pancakes and watched some dolphins far out to sea before lighting the fire and watching the sun go down on another magnificent day.

Sunday 10-7-22:
Had another glorious day camped on the beach at Kinkuna.

Monday 11-7-22:
Headed off through the flooded north access road and made a beeline to Emerald to see my parents at their friends place.
passed through a couple of significant mileage milestones along the way.

Tuesday 12-7-22:

Didn't do much today, welded up a leaking water pipe on dads caravan and mounted a new microwave to the shelf in the van for mum.
The rest of the time was just relaxing.

Wednesday 13-7-22:
Another beaut sunrise greeted me and i then went back to sleep to wait until mum and dad got up so i could say goodbye.
I had a wander around the property checking out the old machinery.

not far out of Emerald i hit the magic "all fours"





not much to see until i got to Charters Towers.

I drove up Tower Hill and had a look around some of the old mine and WWII bunkers

I drove through town then back out to the Puma roadhouse to camp for the night.

Thursday 14-7-22:

This morning i headed in to Charters Towers city centre and wandered up and down the main street, lots of old buildings!
