No sign of the beach from here but a 500 metre walk brings you out on the beach, I walked down to the point and climbed it for a few pics.

The weather looked a bit dicey so I headed back to camp and cooked dinner with a few spits of rain around before relaxing in the canopy for the night.
I disconnected the main Auxillary battery under the bonnet so I could test run the 2nd Auxillary battery under the canopy.

Thursday 18-11-21:

It rained pretty much all night but the day seemed to fine up nicely but not so the battery which had gone flat with just the fridge and lights on, I reconnected and ran the Ute for a bit to pump up the left rear tyre and I eventually headed up for a shower and hit the beach north at around 10:15 am.

Had an easy run but had to wait over half an hour for someone to get unbogged at South Ngkala Rocks and the backlog of cars to wind their way through.

Once past I again had an easy run and rounded Sandy Cape and drove down to the Lighthouse occasionally getting the tyres wet to get around trees.

I arrived at the track around 11:30 pm and walked up the steep boarded track to the Lighthouse to get a few pics.
Had 1 bar of 4G occasionally so managed to check in before heading back down and checking out the Bunker and graves.

I slowly headed back up to the camping area and found a beaut spot so set up camp overlooking the beach about 150 metres from the end of the camping zone.

It was now Low tide 13:15 pm and there was not much beach so I will no doubt be locked in until around midday tomorrow.
The good thing is I will not be getting any new neighbours and the current neighbours are about 75 metres either side of my spot.

A lone Dingo wandered through my camp and down on to the beach not long after the last of the visitors had driven back past my camp.

I had a relaxing afternoon swimming and watching the tide slowly eat up the beach space into the dead trees.

You’re pretty much locked in 3 hours either side of low tide.

Friday 19-11-21:

Tide was coming in and was lapping against the small bank beside my Ute so it was going to be several hours before I could leave.

A dingo wandered through camp a few times and I spotted a couple of Ospreys down the beach a bit.

The Ranger came up the beach checking permits so I knew the beach was open and headed south.

There were several cars waiting and at least one stuck at Ngkala Rocks so I drove over the rocks instead of waiting.
Hit the sliders twice but a fairly easy drive and I was through in a few minutes.

A video of driving over the rocks

notice the guy in front took a different line and drove through pretty deep water.

I had booked in to Ocean Lake camping area so drove in and had a look at the lake first before finding a nice little spot overlooking the beach.

The moon seemed like a new moon but only last night was full so apparently there was the longest eclipse in 600 years … pity I didn’t have a long lens with me so had to use photoshop to zoom a hell of a long way in to be able to see it and had to guess the focus.

Saturday 20-11-21:
I was up at first light to see the moon set over camp and the sun rise.
I waited several hours for high tide to come and go then drove down the beach to Waddy Point and had a shower.

I then drove out to the northern carpark at Champagne Pools and got a few pics of the waves breaking over the rocks.
