Spicers Gap camp ground Main Range NP 6-3-20

Post by Big Red »

Had a wet drive out to Spicers Gap and drove up to the Governers Chair Lookout before heading back down the hill to set up camp.
You can have fires in braziers in this campground but no fires on the ground.

Mosses Well is half way from camp to the lookout, i took the time to clean out the debris from the recent bushfires and add an escape stick to enable the local animals to make use of one of the only almost permanent sources of water up here.

Next morning I headed back up to Governors Chair Lookout for the sunrise.

I dropped the special lens cap from my wide angle lens off the cliff and since the bushfires had cleaned the scrub out I decided to climb down and see if I could find it.
No luck with the lens cap but did find an old earthernware Bendigo Pottery bottle that had somehow survived getting thrown off the cliff onto the rocks below.

and an old gun.

rain hit again so I headed off to my next camp.

Was in the area so went back up to get a few more pics on 29-8-20

seems a bit strange that you cant have fires in the campground but they have wood fired BBQ's in the picnic area beside it

the toilet was the only things not affected by the bushfires a few months ago
