I passed no other vehicles and stopped at the new bridge at Walkers Crossing for a break.
Image

I parked in the shade of the bridge … there really is a Trol under the bridge !

There are a myriad of mining tracks running off in all directions to the well heads so it takes some effort to keep on the right track.
Image

The dust from the Roadtrains makes it advisable to stop and wait untill they go past.
Image

Eventually I came out at Moomba and headed down the Strzelecki Track to the Merty Merty turn off where I turned left for Cameron Corner.
Image

There is not a lot to see apart from a couple of cattle yards which is just as well as the road often turns as it crests a rise.
Image

I made it to Cameron Corner somehow and celebrated with some pics and a Ginger Beer .. starting to really like this stuff.

I passed through the border gate and ran the gauntlet of hundreds of Roos as I wanted to get fuel at Tibooburra as well as a pub meal and a Ginger Beer.

Had to lock up the brakes several times with some near misses but made it through unscathed and refuelled just as they were closing, at least I will be able to hit the road early in the morning now.

Thursday 29th August.

Had a few clouds for the sunrise at the Tibooburra lookout then I hit the road East.

Sturt took a boat on his expedition to cross the "inland Sea"

The pub I dined at last night.

As I left town I started off dodging Roos then that turned into dodging Goats, there are herds of them everywhere and outnumber the cattle and sheep I saw.

Emus were also very prevalent and Eagles to a lesser extent with some Frilly Lizards and Shingle Back Lizards sitting of the road warming up until I moved them.

The road was pretty good until I hit Bourke shire then it became a lot rougher until the bitumen started just outside of Bourke near the old bridge.
Image

I filled up with fuel and made a beeline for home getting in just before midnight.

After 10804 Kms of which 2600Kms were bitumen I was pretty happy with only getting 1 leaking shock [still working] and a spotlight falling off [put back on].
