As I drove around the corner into Baird Creek I found a 2WD hiace campervan bogged to the sills in the pebbly base of the knee deep creek and a woman and child waiting there for her partner to come back.
After checking for tow points underwater I could find none so elected to run a chain around his axle and tow him out backwards.
He had contacted the owner of a tractor around the next bend and arrived back as I set up.
After an easy drag back I advised him of the best line so he could get through to the Yindilli campground on the other side and left so other vehicles who were backed up could get past.
He made it fine on my suggested line.
I drove on to the shed and turned right for Roaring Meg Falls Campground [according to the tractor owner it is no longer a campground and had just deteriorated as no one looks after it.]
Another Government fiasco, set it all up, make up stories, block everything off, fenced and bollarded then hand it over to people who didn’t want it in the first place.
I cleared a site of long grass to use, uncovered an old fireplace and set myself up for a couple of days.
