I headed out to Five Mile Creek but the Mossies were ferocious!!
By this time the clutch had given up the ghost so i couldn't stop and had to start off in gear ... painful crunching between gears was starting to get to me
The clutch had cooled overnight and worked again so i headed to some more remote spots up around Bizant River, before i even got out there the clutch failed again so after a while i got the shits and headed straight back to Laura.
Lesser Black Whip Snake, just my luck to have the 15mm wide angle on when i spotted it.
I made camp in the Laura Riverbed and after a few hours to cool i checked out the clutch, turned out the piston has seized in the Clutch Master Cylinder so after much cleaning and rubbing my fingers over the rough spots it worked a bit but will need a new one so i'll head to Cairns tomorrow and hope it makes it there
Monday 19-9-22:
With fingers crossed i packed up, aired up to highway pressures, unlocked the hubs and left camp to refuel at Laura, so far the clutch was working.
Just as i got to The Quinken art site i spotted a TO with a broken down car so stopped to help, he had bashed the battery terminal so much with his shifter he had broken it and burred over the end so much it was like a hat ... i cut out the hole again so it would fit over the post and screwed a few self tappers in to it to hold it then jump started him and sent him on his way.
I then had a look at the paintings.
