Next morning I tried for some sunrise pics but had the same problem as the sunset pics so I checked over the car and found what i thought might be the problem, I tightened my loose Alternator belt as due to the air compressor the belt has to be super tight for it not to slip. I then headed back out taking a lot more pics with the sun in a different direction. The alternator was charging fine so that was one less worry.
This place should be on everyone's bucket list.
