Kinkuna Camping Zone Burrum Coast NP 29-10-20

As i only managed to get a single nights camp [and even then i didnt get there until 10 Pm] last time i was up this way i took a couple of days holiday and headed up after work thursday night for a 4 night long weekend.no dogs allowed but fires are, good signal at the south end.

The road and the track in was quite foggy and with a horror traffic run through the city to start with i didnt arrive until 10 Pm

Friday dawned bright and clear with no wind.


there was the remains of a steel tank washed up on the beach just in front of my camp




i had a nice spot under the trees right on the beachfront

The wind came up about lunch time and a severe weather warning was issued so i packed up camp and drove up to the northern end of the beach to find a more sheltered spot behind the frontal dunes, wind was much calmer here but phone signal was inconsistant.

High Tide on Saturday morning showed no beach to drive on.


i was a bit sunburnt from yesterday morning so just relaxed at camp for the day.



The storm failed to hit and all i got was the constant wind and a few drops of rain overnight.

Sunday was fine again so walked up to the next creek for a look at high tide.


Butterflies by the thousands were fluttering past all weekend




found some more wreckage inland a bit

Sunday Arvo i again went for a walk but this time was low tide

Woke up Monday morning to Foggy Conditions






packed up and headed off with the tide lapping at the edge of my tyres until i hit the inland track out

I dropped in to Coonarr beach for a look

[Big Red]

Next i headed to Elliot beach for a look






Then it was time to head for home
