We drove up to the end of the road and took the walk up Echidna Chasm with 3 bus loads of tourists … its amazing how nature has eroded the rock in gentle curves coming down to less than a metre wide and a few hundred metres deep.
We passed another bus load of tourists as we walked back out, it was a bit of a squeeze to get past.

Once out Jeff headed back to camp while I tackled the Mini Palms Gorge Track … even had the place to myself for ages.
The end of this chasm is about 20 metres below the tracks end but quite wide although squeezing through some of the 300 to 400 mm wide gaps between the fallen rocks on the track up was a lot harder than Echidna.
I headed back to camp and fired up the BBQ plate on the stove as no fires are allowed

Saturday 28th July
We were awake at 4:45 Qld time [2:45 Bungles time] to photograph the Lunar Eclipse Blood Moon … I set the Pentax up on Intervalometer and went back to bed but had to keep resetting the framing as the moon dropped off the screen … didn’t really work as planned as the light levels changed so much … started at 160th sec and went down to 3 secs but got darker still … then the moon dropped into the trees and below the horizon before it finished its eclipse anyway so it was a waste of time.

We eventually decamped and headed off to the Southern end of the Bungle Bungles but just before the carpark we stopped at a lookout point and Jeff noticed his Nudge Bar was wonky … the passenger side mounting bracket had snapped so we removed the bar and carried on.

We then checked out the other camp and lookout before making our way back to the highway and headed North.
