Monday 30th July ... Barnett River Gorge, Gibb River Road, Kimberleys.
Jeff had the fire going before I dragged my lazy arse out of my nice comfortable Swag so we both had some breakfast before packing up and heading to Mt Elizabeth Station to pay our $150.00 to access the Munja Track out to Walcott Inlet.

We unlocked the Station Gate and had a pretty easy run at first.

We stopped at Cave Rock for a look

A bit later we dropped off the Magpie Jump Up which looks to be the real start of the Munja Track … looks like it will be fun to get back up.

Just after the Turkey Creek camp we checked out some more Rock Art at a nice little camp spot so we stayed to have lunch and let some other people get a long way ahead of us.

The road got very rough and rocky in places and we passed a burnt quad along with numerous creek crossings, one of which had an old burnt out G60 beside it.

Jeff talked me into stopping at Bachsten Creek Bush Camp so we pulled in and walked down a few hundred metres for a swim … bracing it was!

I did a walk to the Honeycomb Cave and was amazed at the rock formations and numerous caves along the top of the Plateau, The Honeycomb cave its self was the icing on the cake, magnificent!

A nice hot shower and dinner cooked on the fire was a good way to end the day.

Tuesday 31st July
Once again I was up a couple of hours before dawn and we headed west just after dawn.
We found a couple of spaces off to the side of the track and parked the Utes
I followed a small path down to a rocky ledge and could hear a waterfall so travelled upstream to Wren Gorge which was a magnificent water hole with a couple of areas of Rock Art.
The waterfall was in shadow so will try and come back tomorrow on the way out… what a magnificent place.
I climbed up on top of the waterfall for a look and the rock ledges just keep on going upstream.
