As i left i could hear a faint psst as the tyre went round, i checked and presumed the Plug in the tyre was letting go when the weight was on it but then i heard a squawk and spent some time trying to figure in out as it was intermittent ... I drove into Marlo where the Snowy River meets the Ocean and found a secluded spot. I checked and found the Hub hot and suspected a bearing but there was no effect on the steering.
When i jacked it up to change the tyre i checked for play in the wheel bearing and it moved heaps so i stripped it down.
There was plenty of grease and the rollers were good but the bearing cage was mangled and bits of metal were scattered through the grease .
I had some spare second hand bearings on board so changed both RH front bearings and hit the road again.
Where the Snowy meets the Sea.
