Monday 16-5-22:

I Headed back out to the highway and pointed the nose of the Patrol South stopping at a rainforest walk ... closed.
I took the back way in to Cape Conran and pulled up on the beach for a bit but the walk was closed.
I headed out to Yeerung Gorge but the road out was closed.

As i left i could hear a faint psst as the tyre went round, i checked and presumed the Plug in the tyre was letting go when the weight was on it but then i heard a squawk and spent some time trying to figure in out as it was intermittent ... I drove into Marlo where the Snowy River meets the Ocean and found a secluded spot. I checked and found the Hub hot and suspected a bearing but there was no effect on the steering.
When i jacked it up to change the tyre i checked for play in the wheel bearing and it moved heaps so i stripped it down.
There was plenty of grease and the rollers were good but the bearing cage was mangled and bits of metal were scattered through the grease .
I had some spare second hand bearings on board so changed both RH front bearings and hit the road again.

I headed north through Orbost and found a camp in the forest at Goongerah.
I chopped some wood and had a nice night around the campfire.

The road got even Narrower after the bridge.
Spotted a thickly furred Dingo along the way.

I drove down to Buccan Caves and booked a double tour of both the Royal Cave and the Fairy Cave.
I only had half an hour to wait so grabbed something to eat and strolled up to the entrance.
